Midwives Associations

ICM has grown from a small group of Midwives Associations in Western Europe to a major Confederation with more than 116 autonomous associations from countries all over the world. By strengthening member associations, ICM advances the profession of midwifery globally promoting autonomous midwives as the most appropriate caregivers for childbearing women.

The Malta Midwives Association invites the submission of abstracts for the ICM Southern Europe Regional Conference “Transforming the Culture of Maternity Services towards Physiology of Birth” to be held on the 26th April 2013 in Malta.

The conference aims at facilitating the sharing of midwifery knowledge and experience towards the physiology of birth in the maternity services of the region.

Deadline for application May 1 for the August Dutch Midwifery summer school 'Program for midwives from abroad'

The Royal Dutch Organisation of Midwives (KNOV) offers certified midwives and exceptional student midwives from abroad an introduction to the Dutch Midwifery system. The program has the capacity to place approximately six midwives per year for a two week period the last two weeks of August 2013. The program plus the criteria for application are available on the KNOV website. Deadline for application is the 1st of May 2013.

ICM and PSRH will hold a pre-conference workshop focusing on strengthening midwifery in the Pacific.
