Congratulations to Laerdal Global Health – Winner of the INDEX: Award 2013
On the 29th of August, 59 sustainable designs competed to take home the world's biggest and most important design prize, the INDEX: Award – which focuses on designs improving the lives of people all over the world. Out of over 1000 nominations received from 73 countries, only 5 winners were announced last night.
We are delighted to announce that Laerdal Global Health with its Natalie Collection is the Winner of the INDEX: Award 2013 in the Body Category. This is an outstanding example of how effective training and education solutions help address global challenges linked to birth-related deaths, and contribute towards achieving 2 of the UN’s Millennium Developments Goals (4&5). "The level of infant and maternal mortality is widely considered as a key indicator of general social and economic development in different parts of the world. If we can reduce this mortality, we will improve life not only for the families impacted, but for society in general. Therefore, beyond helping save lives, the Natalie collection also can make a significant contribution to improving life" (Tore Laerdal)

Laerdal Global Health has decided to donate the €100,000 INDEX: Award prize money to ICM in support of distribution of the Helping Mothers Survive and Helping Babies Breathe training programs among our members in developing countries. On behalf of all at ICM, we would like to express our gratitude for this generous support and for Laerdal Global Health’s efforts in saving thousands of lives.
