ICM brought together over 40 midwives in Freetown in December 2012 to formally close the four year, Dutch funded, Meshwork project: “Strengthening the Midwives Association of Sierra Leone.”

The Association has been successfully reestablished; significantly increasing it’s capacity to take leadership in Midwifery issues. A Platform of Exchange, with Sierra Leone Midwives Association as a focal point, was initiated for the diffusion of information and expertise within the region.
