Prague 2014: 30th ICM Triennial Congress
Plans for the 2014 Congress are well underway with the Czech Confederation of Midwives (CCM). The Congress in Prague will highlight challenges facing midwifery, especially in Eastern Europe, and the work necessary to ensure high quality women-centred midwifery care in that region of the world. The theme for the 2014 Congress is ‘Midwives: Improving Women’s Health Globally’, a theme which reflects MDG 5: To improve maternal health. Governments and global health organisations have recognized that midwives are an essential workforce to achieve MDGs 4&5 by 2015.

Voices of Midwives.
To celebrate the opening of ICM’s World Congress and to encourage support for midwifery care and improve the health of women and their newborn globally, we are staging a fabulous global event called Voices of Midwives. We are asking all of our attendees to gather and sing together in one of Prague’s public parks, accompanied by a 40- piece orchestra. Plans are underway to live- stream the event so that midwives can join in around the world in the 108 countries where we have members! Please ensure when you book you are in Prague for Saturday 31 May 2014 to join in on Voices of Midwives!
Please find full registration details on the Congress web site www.midwives2014.org. For midwives who cannot access the Registration Brochure on-line, hard copy registration brochures are available from each Midwives Organisation.
